ChoiceOne are seeking an experienced Operator Compliance Trainer to join a site-based mining operation. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong mobile plant competency who is comfortable working directly with operators and supervisors in the field.

This is not purely an administrative training role. We are looking for someone practical, credible and confident around mining equipment who can assess operator capability, conduct VOCs and competency sign-offs, identify training gaps and ensure site training requirements remain compliant and audit-ready.

The Role

Working closely with site leadership, supervisors and operators, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering operator training, verification and competency management across site operations.

- Conduct and support operator training, assessments, Verification of Competency (VOC) and competency sign-offs
- Provide field-based verification of mobile plant operators
- Deliver site inductions, refresher training and compliance-based training
- Maintain accurate training, VOC and operator competency records
- Manage and update the site's training and competency matrix
- Identify operator training and competency gaps and work with supervisors to address them
- Support departments with training and compliance requirements
- Assist with contractor onboarding, competency verification and training requirements
- Ensure all training documentation is accurate, current and audit-ready
- Support site preparation for compliance audits and inspections
- Provide practical training support across site operations as required
- Work an 8/6 roster

Mobile Plant Experience

Strong practical competency and training/assessment experience across mining mobile plant is essential. Ideally, you will have experience with several of the following:

- Dump Trucks
- Dozers
- Graders




- Loaders
- Elevated Work Platforms (EWP)
- Rock Breakers
- Moxy / Articulated Dump Trucks
- Water Carts

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong practical mining experience together with the ability to confidently train, assess and verify operators in the field.

- Demonstrated experience in mining mobile plant operations and competency assessment
- Previous experience conducting VOCs, operator assessments and competency sign-offs
- Exposure to open-pit mining operations
- A practical, hands-on approach and the credibility to work effectively with experienced operators and supervisors
- Experience maintaining training records, competency matrices and compliance documentation
- Experience with training management systems and/or Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- An understanding of WA mining compliance and statutory training requirements
- A relevant Training and Assessment qualification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valuable organisational and record-keeping capabilities
- The flexibility to step in and provide practical support across broader site training requirements

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have come from an operator, mining trainer/assessor or mobile plant training background and understand what competent plant operation looks like in a real mining environment.

You will need to be comfortable getting out into the field, observing operators, assessing competency and working collaboratively with site leaders to maintain high training and compliance standards.
