We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic KinderGym Gymnastics Coach to join our team and deliver our junior program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 1-5) in a gymnastics environment. This coach will be responsible for creating a fun, secure, and positive atmosphere where children can learn and develop basic gymnastics skills while fostering a love for movement and physical activity.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver structured kindergym classes focusing on basic movement, coordination, balance, and flexibility
- Create a positive and safe environment for participation
- Lead warm-up and cool-down exercises for safety
- Use creative methods to develop fine and gross motor skills
- Adapt activities to individual needs and abilities
- Ensure equipment is safe and age-appropriate
- Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being
- Communicate with parents about their child's progress
- Foster relationships to encourage teamwork and cooperation
- Maintain a clean, organized activity space
About you
- Holds a Gymnastics Australia KinderGym Coach Accreditation
- Hold and maintain a Working with Children Check
- Hold right to work in Australia
- Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
- At least 2 years of previous experience working with children aged 1-5 in a KinderGym program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage with young children in a positive, supportive manner
- Ability to demonstrate basic gymnastics skills, including stretching, tumbling, and balance work
- Patient, enthusiastic, and compassionate, with a genuine interest in nurturing young children's physical and emotional development

Brighton Recreational Centre is a not-for-profit community organisation that has served the Bayside area since 1969. Together with our partners, we provide recreational, educational and sporting activities to reflect the needs of all age groups in the local community. The centre operates under a lease and hire agreement with the Bayside City Council and is a member of the Bayside cluster of community centres. The Centre offers a number of programs including gymnastics, pottery, art, fitness and wellness classes, holiday programs, birthday parties and a range of other children's programs and services.
