Corporate Support Officer

The NSW Tollway Ombudsman is Australia’s newest independent Ombudsman scheme. We exist to resolve disputes and share insights into systemic issues to support toll entities strengthen consumer practices. We provide a free, fair and impartial avenue for dispute resolution, working with consumers, toll entities and industry stakeholders to achieve practical outcomes and strengthen confidence in the tolling sector.
About the Role
As we continue to build our organisation, we are seeking a capable and highly organised Corporate Support Officer to play a key role in supporting our operations. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the systems, processes and culture that will underpin our future success - building not just a well-run organisation, but a genuinely cohesive team.
In this varied role you will work closely with the team to provide trusted support across corporate administration, operational coordination, and executive support. You will be required to manage sensitive issues and confidential correspondence with judgement and discretion. You will need to respond flexibly to changing priorities, balancing BAU duties and evolving or ad hoc priorities of a growing organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support across the organisation, including facilities management, records management, document control and information governance processes.
- Support finance-related administration such as procurement, supplier coordination and reporting.
- Coordinate HR administration tasks including onboarding logistics, policy documentation, and scheduling
- Support operational governance,
including maintenance of compliance registers and activities across the organisation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and the development of efficient business processes, including the management of internal processes, templates and systems.
- Provide, as needed, executive support to the Ombudsman, including diary management, correspondence, and meeting preparation.
Remuneration between $100,000 - $120,000, based on experience.
About You
You are an organised and adaptive qualified who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and switching between structured administrative work and ad hoc, high-priority requests.
You bring:
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills and experience preparing professional documentation.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound problem-solving skills and a willingness to take ownership, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver practical solutions.
- Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism.
- Solid stakeholder relationship skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Strong working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including the ability to identify opportunities and assess risks to support use of technology across the business.
- Relevant experience, whether it is from business improvement projects,
corporate services, governance or compliance backgrounds.
