We're looking for confident, reliable people to run social poker tournaments at local pubs and clubs across the region.

No professional poker experience required — full training and ongoing support provided. If you're outgoing, organised, and willing to learn, we can teach you the rest.

About the Role

As an APL Tournament Director (TD), you'll host fun and professional poker events in licensed venues. The games are player-dealt, meaning your role is focused on:

- Hosting and running the tournament

- Managing registrations and payouts

- Explaining rules and assisting players

- Keeping the game flowing smoothly

- Creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere

This is a adaptable independent contractor role, ideal for someone looking for evening work with great earning potential.

Contractor Information

Please note this is an independent contractor position, not an employee role.





- Contractors are responsible for managing their own tax obligations

- Pay rates are inclusive of superannuation

- An ABN is required prior to payment (free and easy to obtain)

What We're Looking For

- Confident and outgoing personality

- Reliable and punctual

- Strong communication and customer service skills

- Comfortable managing groups of people

- Willingness to learn poker rules and procedures

- Basic computer skills

- Own laptop and reliable transport

Preferred but Not Essential

- Knowledge of Texas Hold'em poker

- Hospitality, gaming, sports referee, security work or events experience

- Experience handling conflict or customer issues

Requirements

- Availability for evening/night work - Wednesdays and Thursdays

- Must be comfortable working in licensed venues

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Must have Australian work rights

Current Vacancies

- Sunday to Saturday night various shifts available
