About us:

Innisfail Hospital is a level 3 rural hospital staffed and managed by Rural Generalists. We have a highly collaborative and supportive team of Rural Generalists Obstetricians, Anaesthetists, Emergency Docs and Endoscopists. We have a strong focus on providing education and mentorship for Rural Generalist trainees and ongoing case based reflection and training for Senior staff. We roster our trainees to ED, inpatient wards, anaesthesia in operating theatre and endoscopy suite, antenatal clinic and maternity suite to provide broad exposure to rural generalist scope of practice.

Our hospital is generously supported by a Hospital Foundation allowing us access to amazing state of the art resuscitation and ultrasound equipment. We operate a High Dependency Unit capable of stabilising and treating critically unwell patients. About your Opportunity:

In this position you will...Evidence of competence and safe practice in the management of a wide variety of medical presentations, with demonstrated ability to review, analyse and evaluate patient care and identification of appropriate treatment.

High level of communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of backgrounds.





Possess well developed organisational and time management skills. Ensure that the delivery of patient care reflects the Primary Health Care principles.

Work in coordination with the Director of Medical Services and other personnel within the Innisfail Hospital, other hospitals and outside agencies to ensure Innisfail Hospital integrates satisfactorily within the wider community.
