Immediate Start

An established NSW local government organisation is seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager to step into a key leadership position during an important period of change and transformation.

This is an immediate 6 month contract chance, suited to a senior P&C; professional who understands the complexities of local government and can quickly build credibility across an organisation.

The Role

Leading the People & Culture function, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio including:

- Employee and Industrial Relations
- HR operations and advisory
- Payroll oversight
- Learning & Development
- Work Health & Safety
- Organisational culture and employee engagement
- Transformation and continuous improvement
- Senior and executive recruitment
- People policy, governance and workforce initiatives





You will work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing pragmatic advice while helping strengthen culture, capability and P&C; practices across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced P&C; leader who combines strong relationship-building skills with the confidence to navigate complex people matters.

You will ideally bring:

- Strong local government experience – essential
- Previous experience at P&C; Manager, HR Manager, Head of P&C; or equivalent level
- Strong IR/ER knowledge and experience managing complex matters
- Experience leading culture, transformation or organisational change
- Broad exposure across HR, payroll, WHS and L&D;
- Confidence working with executives and senior stakeholders
- A sound understanding of local government governance and operating environments
- A collaborative and approachable leadership style, balanced with the ability to make difficult decisions when required
