Mechanical Engineer - Workshop / On the Tools (Fluid Handling, Defence)
The client
Australian-owned, operating for over 50 years. Designs, builds and services specialist fluid handling equipment for critical industries. Workshop on Sydney's North Shore. Small, team-oriented team with room to grow the role as the business grows.
Who we're after
This is a complex workshop technician role suited to a mechanical engineer. If you've finished your degree and you enjoy hands-on stripping, rebuilding, testing and commissioning equipment then drop us a line. If you did a trade before or during uni, even better. Over time the role can progress to service engineering, 3D design and project engineering.
The work
Roughly 85% workshop, the rest at customer sites across fluid handling, aerospace and maritime.
- Overhauling precision-built fluid handling equipment
- Servicing and repairing pumps, valves,
pipework and control panels
- RO plants and fuel filtration systems on aircraft and ships
- Installs, commissioning, testing and certification
- Inspection and test documentation to regulated-industry standard
You’ll need
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or similar. A mechanical trade with a diploma or degree in progress also works
- Hands-on mechanical experience: assembly, installation, servicing, fault finding
- Comfortable with engineering drawings and precision measuring equipment
- Good with customers, and able to keep service reports, test docs and parts records tidy
- Fit and healthy, physical role
- Driver's licence
- Australian citizen, able to obtain a Defence security clearance
