As a Mechanical Fitter with Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you’ll take on a hands-on role maintaining and repairing key equipment across our Mill’s crushing stations - including hydraulics, gearboxes, and pumps. You’ll collaborate closely with other departments to keep operations running smoothly, all while upholding our strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring our mill’s ongoing success and performance.

This is a permanent full-time position based at our Kalamia Mill which requires working on a day work roster all year round, with some potential for overtime and weekend work.

Key Role Responsibilities

- Carry out directions of and work in conjunction with the Operations Coordinator
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on factory equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and milling equipment.
- Diagnose equipment faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime and support production requirements.
- Assist with shutdown, maintenance day, and breakdown activities as required.
- Provide and undertake training as required
- Access, read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
- Ensure permits to work, risk assessments and job safety analysis are conducted for all work undertaken
- Adhere to all safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance team.





Your Winning Combination

Our ideal candidate holds aCertificate III in Engineering - (Mechanical Fitting) , along with currentConfined Space andWorking at Heights certifications, and amanual driver’s licence . Additional tickets or qualifications are always a bonus! Welding experience is highly regarded in this role.
