Maitland Hospital is a contemporary acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. Our services include Emergency, Intensive Care, Adult Inpatient, Perioperative, Oncology, Renal, Women’s and Children’s Health, Outpatient Clinics, Dental, Imaging, and Pathology.
OurAfter-Hours Nurse Managers (AHNM)are integral members of the Senior Nursing & Midwifery Leadership Team. Working in partnership with the Director of Nursing & Midwifery, Operational Nurse Managers, Nursing Unit Managers, Midwifery Unit Managers, and Nurse Educators, the AHNM provides leadership and support across the hospital, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care at all times.
About the Role
The AHNM is responsible for the operational management and clinical leadership of the hospital during the after-hours period. This pivotal role involves:
- Coordinating patient access and flow across the facility
- Managing the nursing and midwifery workforce to meet service needs
- Responding to incidents and leading disaster and emergency management as required
- Monitoring and managing KPIs to ensure service delivery targets are met
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless care delivery
About You
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic nurse leader who is committed to excellence in patient care and staff support. You will demonstrate:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
with the ability to engage effectively at all levels

Requirements
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in clinical leadership and management, and/or demonstrated leadership/management experience deemed appropriate for the role.
