APS5 Finance Officers – Multiple Opportunities

- Federal Government prospect
- Surry Hills NSW or Richmond VIC or Geelong VIC
- $55.24 per hour + super
- Contract until 31 December 2026 + potential extension
- Australian Citizenship required

DFP Recruitment is seeking experienced APS5 Finance Officers to join a large Federal Government agency. Multiple opportunities are available across different areas of the finance function, offering the chance to work within either Finance Operations/Accounts Payable or Assets and Lease Accounting .

These roles would suit finance professionals who enjoy working in a large, complex environment and can confidently manage financial processes, investigate issues and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The opportunities

Depending on your background and experience, responsibilities may include:

- Accounts Payable, invoice and payment processing
- Vendor management and resolution of outstanding invoices
- Investigating invoice discrepancies and unmatched goods receipts
- Finance service desk and stakeholder enquiries
- Quality assurance of payment and vendor requests
- Financial reporting, reconciliations and maintenance of finance records
- Asset, fleet and property lease accounting
- Preparing and posting journals and monthly reconciliations
- Maintaining lease information within financial management systems
- Supporting asset reporting, financial statements and audit requirements
- Supporting compliance with AASB 16 lease accounting requirements




- Liaising with internal business areas, suppliers and shared service providers

About you

We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience across one or more of the following areas:

- Accounts Payable or Finance Operations
- Asset or Fixed Asset Accounting
- Lease Accounting
- Finance Officer or Assistant Accountant positions
- Financial reconciliations and reporting
- Government finance, procurement or goods receipting processes
- SAP or other large ERP/financial management systems
- SAP RE-FX and/or AASB 16 experience will be highly regarded for the asset-focused opportunity
- Strong Excel, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills

You do not need experience across all areas listed above. Candidates will be considered against the opportunity most closely aligned to their finance background.
