About the role
The MyTime Facilitator coordinates and facilitates peer support groups for parents and carers of children with disability, developmental delay, or chronic medical conditions. The role focuses on creating an inclusive environment, supporting family connections,
coordinating activities, and working with community partners to meet participant needs. The Facilitator also manages group resources, attendance reporting, and program outcomes.
Key duties of the role
- Creates an inclusive support environment by facilitating group engagement, sharing resources, and connecting families with community support services.
- Co-ordinating, planning and delivering required group experiences per quarter/term and providing management and registrants with a detailed session plan prior to the commencement of each quarter/term.
- Co-ordinating the work of the assisting play helper and ensuring children are supervised and appropriate activities are provided.
- Promoting, recruiting and maintaining a high number of registrants
- Support and actively participate in a positive culture and safe work environment
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating support groups, community programs, or working with families of children with additional needs
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse communities
- Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and evaluate programs within set budgets
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise judgement and work independently with minimal supervision
