Coastline Shop Fabrications Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Stainless Steel Sheetmetal Tradesmen & Apprentices to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Narangba, QLD 4504 . As a Stainless Steel Sheetmetal Tradesman or Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in our fabrication operations, delivering high-quality stainless steel products and components. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and precision in the trades and services industry, specifically within welding. Whether you are an experienced tradesman or an apprentice looking to develop your skills, you will contribute directly to the success of our projects and the growth of our business.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and shape stainless steel sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools and specialised machinery
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production of components
- Perform welding operations on stainless steel materials to join and assemble components
- Measure, cut and bend sheet metal materials to precise specifications
- Conduct quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards and client requirements
- Maintain and care for tools and equipment, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition
- Work safely in accordance with all relevant health and safety regulations and workplace procedures
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to specification
- Develop technical skills and knowledge through on-the-job training (for apprentices)
What we're looking for
- For Tradesmen: Completed stainless steel sheetmetal or boilermaking trade qualification or equivalent experience in fabrication work
- For Apprentices: Currently enrolled in or willing to undertake a stainless steel sheetmetal or boilermaking apprenticeship programme
- Solid understanding of stainless steel properties and appropriate fabrication techniques
- Proficiency with welding techniques suitable for stainless steel materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Experience with sheet metal equipment including guillotines, shears, press brakes and welding apparatus
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing work to precise specifications
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
- Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining a safe working environment
- Valid driver's licence is advantageous
- For Apprentices: Demonstrable interest in developing a career in the trades, with a positive attitude towards learning and professional development
