About the role

As an Electronic Security Technician , you’ll install, program, commission, service and maintain electronic security systems across Brisbane. Our work is approximately 80% commercial and industrial (schools, strata, warehousing, small & medium businesses), with the balance across residential and other projects.

You’ll work on a broad range of systems and projects, including:

- Intruder alarms and alarm systems
- CCTV and IP video surveillance
- Access control systems
- Intercom and entry systems
- Networking, wireless links and IP-based security solutions
- Low-voltage cabling and associated infrastructure

You’ll work independently and alongside the team, taking ownership of your jobs from installation through to handover.

Key responsibilities

- Install and service alarms, CCTV, access control and intercom systems
- Find faults and provide practical solutions
- Test systems and train clients during handover
- Work across commercial, industrial and residential sites
- Set up networking, wireless links and IP security systems
- Assist with site inspections for larger commercial projects
- Update job notes and reports in Simpro
- Deliver clean, professional work
- Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and other trades

About you





You’re a capable security systems technician who takes pride in doing the job properly. You can work independently without being micromanaged, while still contributing positively to a supportive team.

You’ll bring:

- Hands-on experience installing and servicing alarms, CCTV, access control and intercom systems
- At least 2 years' experience in the Australian electronic security industry
- Intermediate-level programming and setup capability or higher
- Robust problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- A professional approach to clients, communication and job presentation
- The ability to manage your own jobs, priorities and documentation
- A genuine interest in long-term development, leadership and contributing to company improvement
- Current residency in the Brisbane area with full Australian working rights

Commercial access control experience is highly regarded, particularly across larger or more complex sites.

Licenses and certifications

Required:

- Queensland Class 2 Security License for the installation and maintenance of security systems
- Open Cabler’s License with the relevant endorsements for low-voltage cabling work
- White Card

Preferred, or able to be obtained during employment:

- Blue Card
- Current First Aid certification
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification

Experience with these systems is preferred. We will provide additional support were required:

- Inception alarm and access control systems
- Integriti and/or Tecom alarm and access control systems
- Commercial access control, including two-wire and IP-based systems
- Intercom systems
- CCTV platforms including Hikvision, Dahua, Hanwha & NX Witness
- Hikvision AX PRO, Dahua and/or Ajax alarm systems
- Bosch 6000 alarm systems
