The Opportunity
n
We're looking for a hands-on and practical Industrial Site Support Technician to join our team at our Mascot industrial site.
n
This is a casual opportunity with the potential to transition to a fixed-term position over time, providing an opportunity to establish yourself within the team and grow with 5B.
n
This is a varied, all-rounder role supporting the safe, organised and efficient operation of our R&D; site. You'll work alongside our Industrial Site Lead, workshop team, engineers and project teams, helping keep the site, yard and workshop running smoothly.
n
From materials handling and deliveries through to workshop support, equipment care, housekeeping and general site maintenance, no two days will necessarily look the same. This is a outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in keeping things organised and wants to contribute to the development of innovative renewable energy technology.

Key Responsibilities
n
Safety & Site Operations
n
n
- Follow all WHS requirements, site rules, safe work procedures and risk controls.
n
- Participate in inductions, pre-starts, toolbox talks and required training.
n
- Maintain safe, clean and organised accessways, storage areas, loading zones and work areas.
n
- Support site setup, pack-up, deliveries, pickups and general site operations.
n
- Identify and report hazards, equipment faults, damage, incidents and near misses.
n
- Complete recurring site tasks and respond flexibly to changing operational priorities.
n
n
Site & Equipment Maintenance
n
n
- Maintain the factory, workshop, yard and common areas to a high standard.
n
- Complete routine housekeeping and restocking of PPE, workshop consumables and site supplies.
n
- Undertake minor repairs and practical site improvements within your competency.
n
- Carry out routine cleaning, inspections and basic preventive maintenance of plant and equipment.
n
- Complete tasks such as compressor bleeding, forklift cleaning and electric forklift battery-water checks where applicable.
n
- Conduct pre-start checks and promptly report or isolate faulty or unsafe equipment.
n
n
Workshop & Engineering Support
n
n
- Assist fabricators, machinists, engineers and project teams with practical tasks.
n
- Support metal preparation including grinding, deburring, drilling and basic cutting where trained and authorised.
n
- Assist with painting, cleaning, assembly, fitting, packing and preparation of prototypes, test rigs and equipment.
n
- Operate approved workshop machinery and power tools where competency and authorisation have been confirmed.
n
- Support forklift movements and materials handling for workshop and engineering activities.
n
n
Deliveries, Materials & Waste
n
n
- Receive, identify and distribute incoming deliveries in accordance with site processes.
n
- Prepare outgoing freight including weighing, measuring, packaging and labelling.
n
- Load, unload and move materials, equipment and pallets using forklifts and approved mechanical aids.
n
- Maintain safe and organised loading and delivery areas.
n
- Manage routine waste, recycling and scrap steel activities and coordinate collections as required.
n

About You
n
Qualification
n
n
- Current LF forklift licence.
n
- Additional tickets such as EWP, rigging or other relevant licences are highly regarded.
n
n
Experience
n
n
- Practical experience in an industrial, workshop, warehouse, yard, trade assistant or similar hands-on environment.
n
- Experience using common hand and power tools.
n
- Experience with basic plant and equipment maintenance is advantageous.
n
- Experience supporting tradespeople, fabricators, engineers or prototype/R&D; activities is highly regarded.
n
- Experience with goods receiving, dispatch, stock organisation or industrial yard operations is beneficial.
n
