Job Description
About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity professional to design, implement, and manage end-to-end Business Continuity Planning (BCP) frameworks for a high-profile organisation.
n
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level resilience specialist with an active NV1 clearance to take ownership of continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management initiatives across a complex operating workplace.
n
Candidates must hold a current NV1 clearance and be available to start immediately, with flexibility to be based in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, or Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Develop, implement, and manage end-to-end BCP frameworks aligned with organisational, regulatory, and industry standards
n
- Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Risk Assessments across critical business processes to identify vulnerabilities and prioritise mitigation strategies
n
- Design and maintain disaster recovery plans, including emergency response procedures, crisis management strategies, and recovery time objectives (RTO)
n
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to align continuity plans with organisational goals and operational needs
n
- Define recovery strategies for IT systems, infrastructure, supply chains, human resources, and data management during disruptive events
n
- Organise and lead testing exercises, including tabletop drills, simulations, and end-to-end BCP validations
n
- Deliver training programs and job-specific emergency role guidance to employees and leadership teams
n
- Monitor changes to business operations, risks, and regulations, proactively updating continuity plans
n
- Maintain documentation of business continuity policies, compliance records, and audit-ready frameworks
n
- Support communication plans, including escalation procedures, stakeholder contact lists, and crisis communication templates
n
- Implement best practices for physical asset protection, vendor management, and operational resilience
n

About You
n
n
- 5+ years' experience in Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, or a similar resilience-focused role
n
- Proven expertise in Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment methodologies
n
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards (ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, NIST framework)
n
- Solid understanding of IT disaster recovery principles, system dependencies, and data restoration strategies
n
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and evaluate emergency response exercises and simulations
n
- Familiarity with BC/emergency management tools (risk simulation software, incident tracking systems)
n
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across technology, business, and operations stakeholders
n
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting plans, recommendations, and training
n

Certifications (preferred, not essential)
n
n
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
n
- ISO 22301 Lead Implementer
n
- Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS)
n

Clearance
n
