About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Payroll & HR Officer to join the team at Hinterland Toyota. This is a hands‐on role responsible for the accurate and timely management of weekly payroll for approximately 290 employees across six companies, together with a broad range of HR administration, compliance and reconciliation responsibilities.
n
The successful candidate will be confident working independently, have robust attention to detail and possess a thorough understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards and employment requirements.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- End‐to‐end weekly payroll processing for approximately 290 employees across six companies.
n
- Onboarding new employees, including employee records and system setup.
n
- Maintaining accurate and up‐to‐date employee records.
n
- Managing employee systems including Unipay, Workforce TNA and BrightHR.
n
- Managing the timesheet and attendance system and liaising with Managers to resolve issues and ensure accurate payroll processing.
n
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies promptly and accurately.
n
- Ensuring payroll is processed in full compliance with relevant Awards, legislation and employment requirements.
n
- Same‐day processing of Superannuation and Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions.
n
- Processing weekly Group Tax payments.
n
- Liaising with our external HR provider regarding employee terminations, grievances, unfair dismissal matters and Fair Work investigations.
n
- Ensuring appropriate HR processes and documentation are maintained in accordance with legislation and company requirements.
n
- Completing end‐of‐month payroll and account reconciliations.
n
- Managing year‐end payroll reconciliations and reporting requirements.
n
- Managing WorkCover, Child Support, State Revenue Payroll Tax and PAYG requirements.
n
- Conducting audit and account reconciliations to ensure payroll and financial records are accurate.
n
- Providing general HR and administrative support as required.
n
- Providing reception relief when required.
n

About You
n
n
- Some experience in an end‐to‐end payroll position, preferably managing payroll.
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, superannuation, STP and PAYG requirements.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
n
- The ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies confidently.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with Managers, employees and external HR providers.
n
- A high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information.
n
- Experience with payroll and HR systems; experience with Unipay, Workforce TNA and BrightHR will be highly regarded.
n
- The ability to work independently while also being a reliable and collaborative member of the team.
n
