Mater Hospital Springfield has an exciting opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) in full-time or part-time (28 hours per week), permanent positions, commencing September 2026.
n

Working within our modern perioperative service, you'll play a key role in providing exceptional post-anaesthetic care across this diverse surgical caseload, while being part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team committed to outstanding patient outcomes.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing
n
As a valued member of our PACU team, you will deliver safe, patient-centred care while supporting positive clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. You will:
n
n
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthesia following a variety of surgical procedures
n
- Perform ongoing patient assessment, monitoring and timely clinical intervention throughout the recovery phase
n
- Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe and effective patient care
n
- Advocate for patients and provide compassionate care that supports their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing
n
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to evidence-based practice, infection prevention and quality standards
n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education and professional development opportunities
n
- Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment that promotes excellence in perioperative care
n

About you
n
You are an experienced PACU nurse who thrives in a fast-paced perioperative environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care. You will bring:
n
n
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
n
- Demonstrated recent experience working within a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) is essential
n
- Experience caring for obstetric and/or paediatric patients is highly desirable
n
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patients
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a cooperative approach to patient care
n
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a high standard of professional practice
n
