Mimosa Out of School Care, based in Frenchs Forest, is seeking an inspiring Educational Leader to join our dedicated and supportive team.

n

We are looking for an educator who has a strong personal philosophy for working with school-age children, a passion for high-quality outside school hours care, and the confidence to guide, mentor and inspire educators to deliver engaging, inclusive and meaningful programs.

n

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced OOSH educator, Diploma-qualified educator, educator working towards a relevant qualification, or an experienced early childhood professional looking to bring their knowledge and leadership skills into an OOSH environment.

Solid experience in educational programming, planning and reflective practice is highly regarded. We are seeking someone who understands the importance of child-led learning, intentional experiences, critical reflection and meaningful documentation in supporting positive outcomes for every child.

About the Role

n

As our Educational Leader, you will play a key role in guiding educational practice, supporting educator development and ensuring our OOSH programs reflect the interests, strengths, abilities, needs and voices of the children attending the service.

n

You will work closely with educators and the leadership team to develop engaging programs across before school care, after school care and vacation care.

n

You will support educators to create experiences that encourage children's creativity, independence, social development, wellbeing and connection, while ensuring the program remains responsive to children's interests and ideas.

n

This role requires a confident and collaborative leader who can mentor educators, encourage reflective practice and contribute to a positive team culture where high-quality education, care and child safety are at the centre of everything we do.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Provide educational and programming direction, guidance and support to educators across the OOSH service.
n
- Lead,



inspire and mentor educators to strengthen their practice and professional growth.
n
- Develop, implement and evaluate engaging OOSH programs based on children's interests, strengths, abilities, ideas and goals.
n
- Support educators to confidently complete the planning cycle, including observations, documentation, assessment and critical reflection.
n
- Promote child-led learning and intentional teaching through meaningful indoor and outdoor experiences.
n
- Support educators to provide engaging activities, experiences and opportunities that encourage children's creativity, independence and participation.
n
- Ensure programming reflects the unique needs and interests of school-age children.
n
- Support educators to create inclusive environments where children, families and educators feel a strong sense of belonging.
n
- Encourage children's voice, agency and choice within the program.
n
- Support educators during daily routines, transitions, indoor and outdoor play, excursions and vacation care experiences.
n
- Ensure children's safety, wellbeing and supervision are maintained at all times.
n
- Encourage educators to build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
n
- Maintain accurate educational records and documentation in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and service requirements.
n
- Contribute to the service's Quality Improvement Plan and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
n
- Support educators to reflect on their practice and identify opportunities for improvement.
n
- Work collaboratively with the leadership team and educators to maintain a positive, professional and supportive workplace culture.
n
- Participate in team meetings, professional development and ongoing training.
n
- Contribute equally to daily operations and support the team wherever required.
n

About You

n

You are a passionate educator who enjoys working with school-age children, leading others, sharing knowledge and creating meaningful learning experiences.

n

You will bring:

n

n
- CHC50221 Diploma of School Age Education and Care orDiploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, relevant OOSH qualification, or actively working towards a relevant qualification; alternatively, relevant experience in an OOSH environment will be highly regarded.
n
- Previous experience working in Outside School Hours Care is preferred.
n
- Previous experience as an Educational Leader or in a leadership/programming role is highly regarded.
n
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs for school-age children.
n
- A strong understanding of child-led learning, intentional teaching and reflective practice.
n
- An understanding of the My Time, Our Place framework and the National Quality Framework.
n
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, mentor and support educators.
n
- Excellent communication skills,



both verbal and written.
n
- Strong relationship-building skills with children, families and colleagues.
n
- Enthusiasm, initiative and a genuine passion for working with children.
n
- A positive attitude and genuine commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
n
- Professional presentation and a high level of organisation.
n
- Current Working With Children Check.
n
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, including HLTAID012, or willingness to obtain.
n
- Current Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk training (CHCPRT025), or willingness to obtain.
n
- Full Australian working rights.

Successful applicants will demonstrate a genuine commitment to child safety and must have:

- Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain where applicable.

- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, including HLTAID012, or willingness to obtain.
n
- Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk training (CHCPRT025), or willingness to obtain.
n
- Completion of the National Child Safety Foundation Training through the Geccko platform, or willingness to complete prior to commencement.
n
- A commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for every child.
n
- Willingness to participate in ongoing child safety training, professional development and reflective practice.
n
- Full Australian working rights.
