Lead and deliver clinical education across General Medical and Toxicology, building nursing capability, competency and best practice.

Where you'll be working
n Join Blacktown Hospital and be part of a collaborative nursing and multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, person-centred care and outstanding patient outcomes. In this specialist Clinical Nurse Educator role, you will help shape the capability of our nursing workforce across General Medical and Toxicology services.

n

You will work closely with Nurse Management, Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants and other key stakeholders to strengthen clinical practice and support ongoing career development.

n

Work across General Medical and Toxicology services, supporting nurses at varying levels of experience.

What you'll be doing

n

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will use your clinical expertise and knowledge of adult learning principles to develop,



deliver and evaluate education that strengthens nursing practice and patient outcomes.

n

Develop and deliver clinical education, orientation, onboarding, induction, mandatory training and professional development programs.

n

Mentor nurses and facilitate bedside learning to build clinical competence, confidence and capability.

n

Plan and evaluate education programs in collaboration with Nurse Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants.

n

Undertake competency assessments and support the achievement of clinical objectives across designated specialties.

n

Contribute to quality improvement, research, evidence-based practice and initiatives that promote safe, high-quality patient care.

n

Registration: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency(AHPRA)

n

Selection Criteria

n

Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and/ or post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/education.

n

Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture.

n

Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.

n





Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.

n

Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.

n

Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.

n

Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
