Hitech Remedial Builders Pty Ltd is an established construction company specialising in complex building repairs and façade rectification across Sydney.
n
We are seeking a part time (16 hours), highly experienced, Senior Accounts Officer / Bookkeeper to join our accounts team and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounts and bookkeeping functions of the business.
n
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who is confident working independently, has strong technical bookkeeping knowledge and can manage a broad range of accounting responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

About the role
n
Working closely with management and project teams, this hands‐on role involves managing accounts independently with strong attention to detail in a busy construction environment.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
n
- Processing and coding supplier and subcontractor invoices
n
- Preparing and processing supplier and subcontractor payment runs
n
- Monitoring outstanding debtors and following up overdue accounts
n
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account discrepancies
n
- Completing bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
n
- Managing project cost allocations and ensuring expenses are correctly coded
n
- Processing end‐to‐end payroll
n
- Reviewing timesheets and payroll data prior to processing
n
- Managing leave entitlements, superannuation and PAYG withholding
n
- Completing payroll reconciliations and maintaining accurate employee payroll records
n
- Assisting with BAS preparation, GST reconciliations and associated reporting
n
- Maintaining supplier, subcontractor and employee records
n
- Liaising with management, project teams, suppliers, subcontractors and our external accountant
n
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
n
- Providing general financial and administrative support to management as required
n
n
About you
n
We are looking for an experienced accounts professional who can confidently manage the role with minimal supervision.
n
To be successful, you will ideally have:
n
n
- Extensive experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or similar finance role
n
- Demonstrated experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
n
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance, such as a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting or equivalent
n
- Demonstrated experience processing end‐to‐end payroll, including timesheets, leave entitlements, superannuation, PAYG withholding and payroll reconciliations
n
- Sound knowledge of Australian payroll requirements and statutory obligations
n
- Solid knowledge of GST and BAS requirements, including preparation and reconciliation
n
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, general ledger coding and account reconciliations
n
- Experience managing bank and credit card reconciliations
n
- Strong reconciliation and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
n
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
n
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
n
- Experience using MYOB or Xero (MYOB preferred)
n
- Excellent organisational and time‐management skills
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounts function
n
- A proactive and practical approach to problem solving
n
n
Previous experience within the construction industry is highly desirable.
n
Experience dealing with subcontractors, project costing, supplier accounts and construction‐related financial administration will be viewed favourably.
