This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing a development portfolio of approximately $200 million annually, delivering strategic urban renewal initiatives, commercial ventures, and city-shaping development projects that contribute to Canberra's growth and prosperity.

You will lead the Urban Development and Commercial Ventures teams, driving the delivery of some of Canberra's most significant development opportunities. This includes overseeing all phases of project delivery, from planning and approvals through to stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiations, project delivery, and settlement. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future shape of Canberra, build solid partnerships across government and industry, and lead multidisciplinary teams committed to delivering exceptional outcomes. You will represent SLA at executive forums, community and stakeholder meetings, industry events, and high‑level negotiations, advocating for innovative approaches to urban development and commercial collaboration.

As a member of SLA's Executive Leadership Team,

you will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture that enables people to succeed and supports the delivery of strategic objectives. Your leadership will help create sustainable, vibrant places that meet the needs of Canberra's growing and diverse community while delivering strong commercial and social outcomes.

If you are a strategic thinker, accomplished leader, and collaborative relationship builder with a passion for urban development, commercial partnerships, and city‑making, we invite you to bring your vision and expertise to SLA.

We welcome applicants with significant leadership experience in urban development, property, infrastructure, commercial ventures, construction, or related industries from both the public and private sectors. Executive‑level experience operating in complex commercial environments, leading large multidisciplinary teams, and managing major projects, partnerships or development portfolios will be highly regarded.
