About Us

We are a well-established Newcastle based advisory and accounting firm providing taxation, business advisory and compliance services to small and medium-sized enterprises across NSW. As part of our expanding risk and compliance division, we are seeking experienced auditors to conduct workers compensation wage audits on behalf of icare (Insurance & Care NSW).

n

The Role

n

This role involves conducting workers compensation wage audits in line with icare requirements and NSW workers compensation legislation.

n

You will work with a diverse client base across industries including construction, manufacturing, professional services, hospitality and transport. Audits may be conducted remotely or in office, depending on client requirements.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Data Review and Analysis

n

Review payroll records, general ledgers, contractor payments and financial statements.

n

Analyse wage data and assess contractor and labour‐hire arrangements.

n

Compliance Testing

n

Verify declared wages against workers compensation policy and legislative requirements.

n

Confirm correct industry classifications and WIC codes.

n

Identify under‐declared wages,



misclassification issues and compliance risks.

n

Reporting and Communication

n

Prepare clear and defensible audit reports.

n

Communicate findings professionally with employers and stakeholders.

n

Maintain strict confidentiality and data security.

n

About You

n

Skills and Experience

n

Experience in accounting, payroll, compliance or financial auditing.

n

Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.

n

Ability to interpret complex financial data.

n

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting/payroll systems.

n

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

n

A relevant qualification (degree level or higher).

n
