Flavours Catering + Events is on the lookout for a talented Sous Chef with a passion for high-quality food, team leadership, and the fast-paced world of catering.

This is not your typical restaurant or café kitchen role — it's a dynamic opportunity within a production kitchen and events environment, working closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver exceptional food for high-end corporate and private events.

About the Role

n

As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in leading our kitchen operations. You'll help manage daily production, support the wider team, ensure smooth prep and dispatch, and occasionally attend off-site events to oversee food service. This is a hands-on, kitchen-based role — not an office job.

n

It's an ideal opportunity for a chef who's ready to step into a more senior role, particularly someone with experience in catering or large-format food production.

Schedule & Flexibility

n

n
- Tuesday to Saturday as usual roster
n
- Early starts (typically between 5am–6am), finishing between 2–3pm
n
- Flexibility required for occasional evening or off-site event shifts (approx. 3–4 per month)
n

n

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team alongside the Head Chef
n
- Overseeing daily food production, prep, and event dispatch
n
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation
n
- Driving kitchen efficiency, stock rotation, and prep timelines
n
- Supporting kitchen logistics, supplier deliveries, and catering order flow
n
- Attending and executing off-site events with the FOH and operations team
n
- Assisting with onboarding and training junior kitchen staff
n

n

About You

n

n
- Previous experience in catering, production kitchens, or high-volume food prep (essential)
n
- Calm, clear-headed, and confident in high-pressure environments
n
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
n
- Flexible, efficient,



and solutions-focused with attention to detail
n
- Holds a valid NSW Driver's Licence and is confident driving automatic vans
n
- Holds a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
n
- RSA Certificate highly regarded
n
- Permanent residents preferred, but sponsorship available for the right candidate after a qualifying period
n
