Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic & Apprentice

Position: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Apprentice

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Diagnose faults in engines and mechanical systems
n
- Repair and maintain heavy vehicles and mechanical components
n
- Remove and dismantle engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components
n
- Inspect components to identify faults, damage and wear
n
- Repair or replace faulty and worn parts
n
- Reassemble mechanical components and systems
n
- Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs or replacement
n
- Use computerised diagnostic equipment to diagnose and test vehicle systems
n
- Inspect vehicles and complete repairs required to achieve roadworthiness
n
- Repair and maintain vehicle suspension and chassis systems
n
- Carry out general servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
n
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
n
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
n
- Complete all mechanical work to a high professional standard
n

Apprentice Requirements

n

n
- No previous experience required
n
- Genuine interest in heavy vehicles and mechanical work
n




- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
n
- Reliable and punctual
n
- Good work ethic and positive attitude
n
- Ability to work as part of a team
n
- Commitment to completing a 4-year apprenticeship
n

Training: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

n

Qualified Mechanic Requirements

n

- Completed a 4-year apprenticeship
n
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
n
- Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles
n
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills
n
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Reliable, skilled and safety-conscious approach
n
