We have an opening for one Public Relations Lead (PRL) on our global PR team, working with our Asia Pacific operations and marketing teams. This role requires someone who has exceptional public relations expertise —a team player who always thinks strategically, can see creative stories and bring them to life, provides counsel to leadership, and responds quickly to shifting priorities.

In this role, you'll take on media relations, campaign strategy (including digital partnerships), content marketing, thought leadership development, and issues/crisis management in partnership with Marketing and PR/Communications colleagues and leadership. Combining your business savvy and PR skills, you'll collaborate with professionals to help lead dynamic campaigns which will help our firm to grow.

We're looking for someone to be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
n
Reporting to the Manager of Public Relations for Global Strategies, the PRL-Asia Pacific is part journalist, part storyteller, part strategic advisor, part campaign designer, part manager. Some of the activities you'll focus your energy on include, but are not limited to:

Your Key Responsibilities:
n
Media Relations & Reputation Management
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry influencers, associations, and other key stakeholders across Asia Pacific.
n
Partner with marketing and operational leaders to identify media opportunities that position Stantec's people, projects, and expertise in priority industry conversations.
n
Support thought leaders and clients with media engagement, brand activation, reputation management, and crisis response in partnership with the global PR team.
n
Strategic Communications Counsel, Partnership
n
Provide strategic communications counsel to senior internal clients and marketing leaders, supporting business priorities, social media fluency, and media preparedness.
n
Crisis Communications / Business Continuity
n
Partner with regional and business leaders to deliver crisis communications strategies, leadership training, and responsive issues management aligned with the Corporate Crisis Management Plan.
n
Brand Support – Content Marketing & Editing
n
Champion Stantec's brand voice by developing, advising on, and editing content for external communications channels.
n
Thought Leadership and Industry Positioning
n
Work with marketing teams and technical experts to develop thought leadership content and support integrated campaigns for key audiences.
n
Advise on social and digital media strategy, support corporate channel standards, track industry conversations, and amplify strategic content through subject matter experts.
n
External New Business Positioning
n
Support top pursuits by partnering with marketing, business development, and leadership teams to shape PR and marketing positioning for key projects and markets.
n
Collaborate with PR and Digital team members to align priorities, share progress, and contribute ideas for stories, campaigns, and content strategies.
n
Use measurement and analytics tools to track campaign performance, provide data-driven counsel, and refine activity to meet objectives.
n
Support PR colleagues through mentoring, development opportunities, and exposure to growth experiences.
n
Required Experience
n
Minimum 7 years' experience in public relations, corporate communications, journalism, strategic communications, or agency environments
n
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English or marketing
n
Proven experience engaging/advising senior leaders
n
Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated PR campaigns
n
Strong issues and crisis communications experience
n
Experience working within professional services, infrastructure, engineering, environmental consulting, or related sectors is desirable
n
