Job Description
Senior Project Officer - Engagement / Training
n
Our client is a large Queensland Government department delivering environmental, agricultural and community protection initiatives across the state.
n
About the role
n
As the Senior Project Officer, you will support the planning, delivery and evaluation of preparedness projects relating to animal and plant biosecurity.
n
Projects may cover emergency animal diseases, invasive pests and animals, stakeholder education, training and engagement activities, and the development of supporting resources.
n
Working within an approximately 17-person Strategy and Engagement team, you will engage with internal specialist teams and a diverse range of external stakeholders.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate biosecurity preparedness projects
n
- Define project requirements, objectives, priorities and deliverables
n
- Develop and manage project schedules, timelines and resources
n
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies
n
- Prepare project updates, reports, briefings and supporting documentation
n
- Coordinate stakeholder education, training and engagement activities
n
- Develop practical resources that strengthen biosecurity awareness and preparedness
n
- Build productive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
n
- Work with industry groups, local government, supply-chain partners, community organisations and the public
n
- Support effective governance, reporting,
and continuous improvement across projects
n

Requirements
n
n
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing projects from planning through to delivery and evaluation
n
- Strong capability across project planning, timelines, risks, stakeholder management and reporting
n
- Experience delivering education, engagement, training or behaviour-change projects is highly regarded
n
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefings and project resources
n
- Confidence engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment
n
- Government experience is not essential, although an understanding of governance or public‐sector processes would be beneficial
n
- Experience within biosecurity, agriculture, primary industries, emergency preparedness, setting or natural resource management would be advantageous
n
