We are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer with a strong professional baseline in AC-side / mains power electronics and industrial products.
n
You need credible hands-on design capability across power stages, switching, protection, sensing, AC systems and motors, and you need to be able to explain clearly what you personally designed and delivered.
n
But you do not need to have done everything we do.
n

The design challenge...
n
This is fundamentally a Power Electronics designer role.
n
defining a new product architecture
n
selecting a topology
n
designing or modifying a power stage
n
specifying switching devices
n
developing gate‐drive, sensing or protection circuitry
n
designing or reviewing high‐current PCB layouts
n
adapting an existing product for a new application or customer
n
solving thermal, EMC or reliability problems
n
redesigning ageing or underperforming products
n
taking designs through prototype, validation and release
n
You should have professional experience with AC electrical systems, mains‐side power electronics and motors, together with strong fundamentals across several areas such as:
n
SCRs / TRIACs / MOSFETs / IGBTs / SiC
n
AC‐DC / DC‐AC conversion
n
three‐phase systems
n
motor control
n
current and voltage sensing
n
protection
n
thermal design and derating
n
EMC / EMI
n
isolation, creepage and clearance
n
prototype bring‐up and fault diagnosis
n
