Job Description

An Accountant position based in Rosebery, NSW. The role involves managing day-to-day financial transactions, bank and credit card reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable management, budgeting and forecasting, taxation and financial documentation, and stakeholder communication.

Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and operating reports for directors and senior management, ensuring accurate and timely completion of month-end reporting.

n

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals and other month-end adjustments, and review general ledger accounts and balance-sheet reconciliations to maintain the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

n

Perform bank and balance-sheet account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and variances, and make or recommend appropriate accounting adjustments.

n

Analyse inventory valuation, cost of goods sold and stock movements, perform periodic inventory reconciliations, and investigate variances in collaboration with operations and warehouse teams.

Prepare weekly cash-flow forecasts and analyse cash requirements, supplier payment commitments and working-capital movements to support financial planning and cash-flow management.

Assist the CFO with the preparation of annual budgets for marketing, distribution, fulfilment and inventory, providing financial information to support budgeting, forecasting and management decision-making.

Review supplier invoices, payment terms and account discrepancies, liaise with vendors to resolve financial issues, and support accurate and timely accounts-payable processing.

Provide financial information and analysis to the CFO, directors and operational teams to support business planning, financial control and management decision-making.

About you

n

Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, or a closely related field with substantial accounting studies

n

CPA or CA membership highly regarded

n

At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

n

Conversant in English

n

Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices

n

Familiarity with tax regulations and requirements

n

Experience in Xero

n

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and comfortable dealing with large spreadsheets

n

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail

n

Robust organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
