About the role
n
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee food preparation and service, lead a dedicated kitchen team, and ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals that meet their individual dietary needs.
n
You'll play an important role in creating a positive dining experience for residents while ensuring the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and in line with food safety, nutrition, hydration and aged care standards.
n

Key responsibilities
n
n
- Lead daily kitchen operations and coordinate efficient meal preparation and service
n
- Prepare nutritious, high-quality meals, including meals for residents with special dietary requirements
n
- Ensure menus and meals align with individual resident needs and care plans
n
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, nutrition, hydration and aged care requirements
n
- Manage stock control, food ordering, storage and kitchen budgets
n
- Supervise, roster, train and mentor kitchen staff
n
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and workplace health and safety
n
- Work collaboratively with care, clinical and lifestyle teams
n
- Engage positively with residents and respond to their individual preferences and needs
n
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across food service and kitchen operations
n
n
About you
n
You're an experienced Chef or kitchen leader who takes pride in delivering nutritious, high-quality food and creating a positive experience for residents.
n
To be successful, you'll have:
n
n
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
n
- Food Handling and Hygiene certification - essential
n
- Experience in aged care, hospital, commercial catering or a similar environment
n
- Previous experience leading, supervising or mentoring a kitchen team
n
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
n
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
n
- The ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and contribute effectively to a team
n
- The ability to obtain a National Police Check and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to commencement, where required
n
