An exciting full-time opportunity is currently available for a Solicitor to join the Victorian Government within the Loddon Area, Bendigo Region. In this vital role, you will be part of the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office (Statewide CPLO), contributing to the delivery of essential legal services that support child protection outcomes across the community.

As a Solicitor within the Statewide CPLO, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing skilled legal advice, dedicated support, and strong representation for child protection matters. You will be expected to actively appear and manage litigation cases across multiple judicial settings, including the Children's Court of Victoria, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and other related legal jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities and duties of this position typically include:

- Delivering accurate and timely legal advice and case strategies regarding child protection matters.
- Representing the agency effectively in court hearings, mediations, conferences, and related proceedings.
- Preparing legal documents, submissions, briefs, and correspondence to a high professional standard.




- Collaborating closely and working predominantly with one of the dedicated Statewide CPLO legal teams.
- Managing a diverse caseload while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, court timeframes, and internal policies.
- Engaging in regular travel as required to fulfill court appearance and operational duties across the designated region.

To be successful in this position, you should possess a current legal practicing certificate and demonstrated experience in litigating matters, ideally within family law, child protection, or a related jurisdiction. Strong advocacy, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will frequently negotiate positive outcomes and communicate complex legal concepts to diverse stakeholders.
