Site / Project Engineer – Rail | Gold Coast

About the role

n

MMD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site / Project Engineer – Rail for a contract opportunity on the Gold Coast, Queensland, working directly with a Tier 1 contractor on a major rail infrastructure project.

n

This is a site-based role suited to an engineer with strong rail construction experience and, importantly, previous exposure to rail signalling works.

n

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider project team to support the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of works on site.

n

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Coordinate and supervise day-to-day rail construction activities on site
n
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality requirements and project standards
n
- Support the delivery and coordination of rail signalling works
n
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors and project stakeholders
n
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress
n
- Assist with planning, programming and coordination of site activities
n
- Prepare and maintain site documentation, including progress reports, ITPs, test records, RFIs and as-built information
n
- Monitor quality assurance and ensure works meet required standards
n
- Support health, safety and environmental requirements across the project
n
- Identify and resolve site-based engineering and construction issues
n
- Provide technical support to the Project Manager and wider delivery team
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Degree in Civil Engineering,



Construction Engineering or a related discipline
n
- Previous rail project experience is essential
n
- Rail signalling experience is required
n
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience working as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer
n
- Experience working on major infrastructure or Tier 1 construction projects highly regarded
n
- Solid understanding of rail construction methodologies and site delivery
n
- Sound knowledge of Australian engineering standards and construction requirements
n
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple work fronts
n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced site environment
n
