About the role
n
As an Electronic Security Technician, you'll install, program, commission, service and maintain electronic security systems across Brisbane. Our work is approximately 80% commercial and industrial (schools, strata, warehousing, small & medium businesses), with the balance across residential and other projects.
n
You'll work on a broad range of systems and projects, including:
n
n
- Intruder alarms and alarm systems
n
- CCTV and IP video surveillance
n
- Access control systems
n
- Intercom and entry systems
n
- Networking, wireless links and IP-based security solutions
n
- Low-voltage cabling and associated infrastructure
n
n
You'll work independently and alongside the team, taking ownership of your jobs from installation through to handover.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Install and service alarms, CCTV, access control and intercom systems
n
- Find faults and provide practical solutions
n
- Test systems and train clients during handover
n
- Work across commercial, industrial and residential sites
n
- Set up networking, wireless links and IP security systems
n
- Assist with site inspections for larger commercial projects
n
- Update job notes and reports in Simpro
n
- Deliver clean, professional work
n
- Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and other trades
n
n
About you
n
You're a capable security systems technician who takes pride in doing the job properly. You can work independently without being micromanaged, while still contributing positively to a supportive team.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
- Hands-on experience installing and servicing alarms, CCTV, access control and intercom systems
n
- At least 2 years' experience in the Australian electronic security industry
n
- Intermediate-level programming and setup capability or higher
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
n
- A professional approach to clients, communication and job presentation
n
- The ability to manage your own jobs, priorities and documentation
n
- A genuine interest in long-term development, leadership and contributing to company improvement
n
- Current residency in the Brisbane area with full Australian working rights
n
n
Commercial access control experience is highly regarded, particularly across larger or more complex sites.
n
Licenses and certifications
n
Required:
n
n
- Queensland Class 2 Security License for the installation and maintenance of security systems
n
- Open Cabler's License with the relevant endorsements for low-voltage cabling work
n
- White Card
n
n
Preferred, or able to be obtained during employment:
n
n
- Blue Card
n
- Current First Aid certification
n
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) certification
n
n
Experience with these systems is preferred. We will provide additional support were required:
n
n
- Inception alarm and access control systems
n
- Integriti and/or Tecom alarm and access control systems
n
- Commercial access control, including two-wire and IP-based systems
n
- Intercom systems
n
- CCTV platforms including Hikvision, Dahua, Hanwha & NX Witness
n
- Hikvision AX PRO, Dahua and/or Ajax alarm systems
n
- Bosch 6000 alarm systems
