Health, Safety, Quality & Training Manager

Mesh & Bar is a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of reinforcing steel and mesh products, supporting residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the country. We are currently looking for an experienced Health, Safety, Quality & Training Manager to lead HSQT across our NSW operations.
n
Supporting Mesh & Bar, Concrete Industry Supplies, Meshworks and Builder's Trade Centres, this is a hands‐on role for someone who enjoys being out in the business, partnering with operational leaders and teams to improve safety, training and quality across our sites.
n
The role
n
You'll take ownership of HSQT across NSW, including:
n
n
- Driving improvements to our WHS and Quality Management Systems
n
- Conducting site audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations
n
- Developing SOPs, work instructions and practical safety documentation
n
- Managing workers compensation, injury management and return to work
n
- Maintaining and delivering the NSW training plan
n
- Identifying training and competency gaps across our workforce
n
- Developing and delivering safety, quality and operational training
n
- Maintaining ISO 9001, ACRS and SSA certifications
n
- Managing non-conformances, corrective actions and quality reporting
n
- Supporting product quality requirements and AS4671 compliance
n
- Contributing to national safety, quality and training initiatives
n
- Reporting into the NSW GM, working closely with Branch Managers and operational teams across NSW, as well as our National SHEQ Manager.
n

About you
n
We're looking for someone who can connect with people on the floor just as comfortably as they can work with senior leaders.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
- Safety/WHS experience within heavy manufacturing, steel, construction, logistics or a similar operational environment
n
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and safety systems
n
- Experience developing and delivering workplace training
n
- Confidence conducting investigations, audits and site inspections
n
- Exposure to quality management systems and ISO 9001
n
- Robust communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- A practical, solutions‐focused approach to safety and training
n
- Experience with ACRS, AS4671 or reinforcing steel would be highly regarded but isn't essential.
