As we continue to enhance our guest experiences and maintain the highest standards of animal welfare, we are seeking an experienced and passionate keeper to join our team as Koala & Animal Encounters Supervisor. This role is responsible for the operational supervision of keepers, hosts and volunteers, ensuring protected, engaging and memorable guest experiences while supporting excellence in animal care, welfare and training.

About the Role
n
As our Koala Habitat & Animal Encounters Supervisor, you will be part of our passionate Animal Encounters Team, delivering educational, engaging and memorable wildlife experiences that connect guests with conservation and nature.
n
In this role, you will provide day-to-day supervision, training and coaching to our team of keepers, hosts and volunteers across the Koala Habitat and Animal Encounters operations. You will work to achieve the right balance between exceptional animal welfare and husbandry standards, outstanding guest experiences, team capability and operational performance.

Working closely with the Animal Encounters leadership team, you will support the delivery of experiences that not only delight and inspire our guests,
but also contribute to organisational sustainability, ensuring our conservation mission can continue to thrive.

About You
n
To be successful in this role you have previous zoo keeping or animal husbandry experience and be confident working with animals and comfortable with public speaking and performing presentations to visitors, groups and media. Other required skills and qualifications we are looking for include:
n
n
- Certificate 3 in Captive Animal Management (required as minimum)
n
- Able to understand and identify animal behaviour, the basic training and conditioning of wildlife and monitoring animal health
n
- A fun, energetic and highlight motivated attitude and have excellent communication skills
n
- Highly adaptable and able to work well in a team
n
- Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment, in all weathers, in a role that requires substantial walking in a workplace that has native wildlife such as birds and reptiles
n
- Flexible and available to work across weekends, school holidays and public holidays
n
n
