An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Residential DesignOfficer to join our team in a flexible part-time role, helping toshape quality residential development outcomes and enhance ourlocal community. Working as part of the Building Services team, youwill assess Development Applications for residential properties andprovide specialist advice to internal and external customers. Youwill prepare detailed written reports supporting the DevelopmentApproval or Refusal, undertake site inspections as required, andwork collaboratively with applicants, ratepayers and otherinterested parties to ensure the consistent and fair application ofResidential Design Code principles. This role will suit candidates with previousexperience as an Urban Planner or Planning Officer.

To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria as part of their application

- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed negotiation skills and interpersonal skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Residential Design Codes
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Current WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence
- A recognised planning qualification, such as a Bachelor Degree or Graduate Certificate in Development Planning, or equivalent

What we offer

This position offers a gross salary of $102,707 perannum (this will be pro rata for part time).
