Q-Tech Building Consultants is hiring and we are looking for an experienced builder with insurance industry experience to join our team as a Building Consultant. Ideally, you will be based between Northern Sydney and Newcastle.

This is a unique opportunity for a registered builder with proven insurance claims experience to step into a highly respected consulting role. You'll combine your construction expertise and insurance knowledge to assist insurers with large and complex building claims, providing technical advice, investigations, and practical solutions that directly influence claim outcomes. Builders with strong building, renovation, repair, insurance and problem solving experience often find this role highly rewarding.

About the role

n

As a Building Consultant with Q-Tech, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to insurance companies, loss adjusters and claims teams. Your expertise will help guide decision making on building claims through the delivery of detailed inspections and qualified reports.

Key responsibilities

n

Undertake site inspections, meetings and repair audits on large and complex insurance claims

n

Investigate and report on the cause of damage to residential, commercial, strata and rural properties

n

Prepare detailed scopes of work and rectification recommendations

n

Read and interpret technical reports from engineers, hygienists, builders and other industry experts

n

Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, builders, restorers, and other stakeholders to facilitate successful claim outcomes

n

Prepare accurate, professional reports within required service timeframes

n

Travel regularly throughout NSW,



including regional and rural locations, with occasional interstate travel when required

n

About you

n

Hold or be eligible for NSW Builders registration

n

Demonstrated insurance building claims experience

n

Minimum 10 years hands on experience in the residential or commercial building industry

n

Experience in estimating, scheduling or supervising trades and repairs

n

Confidence using Microsoft Office and producing professional, well written reports

n

The ability to accurately assess and clearly describe building defects, damage, condition, and repair requirements

n

A current driver's licence and willingness to travel
