Job Description

As a Youth Worker with Point Care, you will provide high-quality, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people living in Point Care residential homes, emergency placements and supported accommodation, as well as participating in community-based programs.

The role focuses on maintaining a safe and supportive environment while helping young people develop independence, participate in education and community activities, and work towards their individual care plan goals.

Key responsibilities

n

Provide therapeutic care and day-to-day support to children and young people

n

Maintain a safe, supportive and child-focused setting

n

Support young people with daily living activities and the development of independence

n

Encourage participation in education, training and personal development

n

Support community participation and positive engagement

n

Follow individual care and support plans

n

Complete accurate and timely documentation, case notes and incident reporting

n

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

n

Support positive engagement and outcomes for young people

n

Maintain compliance with relevant NDIS and Child Safety requirements

n

About you

n

We are looking for reliable, compassionate and committed Youth Workers who are genuinely interested in supporting children and young people in a residential care environment.

You will have:

n

Preferred: Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care)

n

An equivalent relevant qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a related field will also be considered

n

A higher-level relevant qualification may also be considered

n

Relevant experience working with children and young people, particularly in youth work, residential care, child and family services, community services or related settings

n

Current Blue Card

n

NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

n

Current First Aid and CPR

n

Current Driver Licence

n

National Police Check

n

Willingness to complete and maintain Point Care's mandatory training and compliance requirements
