About headspace Early Psychosis
n
headspace Early Psychosis provides specialised early intervention services to young people aged 12 to 25 years who are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, a first episode of psychosis.
n
The Functional Recovery Team (FRT) promotes the functional recovery of young people through evidence-based, recovery-oriented care, supporting positive outcomes in education, employment, relationships and community participation.

Your Opportunity
n
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinician to join our multidisciplinary Functional Recovery Team.
n
Based in Southport, you will work across the headspace Early Psychosis cluster, supporting young people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, a first episode of psychosis. Working collaboratively with young people, their families, carers and other service providers, you will deliver evidence-based interventions that support recovery and improve functional outcomes.
n
This role combines assessment, therapeutic intervention, care planning and group facilitation within a collaborative and innovative clinical environment.
n
You will contribute to the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of individual and group-based programs, including creative, fitness-based and outdoor adventure activities such as surfing, kayaking and fishing.
n
We're particularly interested in clinicians with strong assessment and report-writing capabilities who can contribute to formulation-driven care and support young people's recovery journeys.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people and their families.
n
- Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning and clinical documentation.
n
- Prepare high-quality clinical reports and contribute to treatment planning.
n
- Facilitate individual and group-based therapeutic programs.
n
- Co-facilitate recreation, fitness and creative-based interventions.
n
- Maintain an active caseload and manage competing clinical priorities.
n
- Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical discussions.
n
- Build and maintain productive relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
n
- Participate in supervision, reflective practice and continuous improvement activities.
n
- Contribute positively to team culture and service development.
n

About You
n
You will be a passionate mental health skilled who enjoys working with young people and values a collaborative, recovery-oriented approach.
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology.
n
- Current AHPRA registration.
n
- Previous experience working as a Clinician, Mental Health Clinician or similar.
n
- Experience undertaking assessments and preparing clinical reports.
n
- Knowledge of early psychosis, youth development and recovery-oriented practice.
n
- Understanding of relevant mental health legislation and reforms.
n
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Strong interpersonal, consultation and relationship-building skills.
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
n
- Experience using electronic client management systems and information technology platforms.
n
- Commitment to cultural safety, inclusion and client-centred practice.
n
- Openness to innovative therapeutic approaches, including adventure-based interventions.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Previous experience in youth mental health.
n
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
n
- Qualifications or experience in personal training, group fitness, yoga or outdoor adventure activities.
n
- Experience facilitating activity-based therapeutic interventions.
n
