Job Description
The Opportunity
n
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team at our Mascot Head Office.
n
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the Accounts Payable function across the organisation, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of supplier transactions in a high-volume environment.
n
This is a hands-on senior role that combines operational excellence with process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and team support. You will act as a key escalation point for supplier and payment-related matters while helping to maintain strong financial controls and supporting the ongoing development of the Accounts Payable team.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function across the business.
n
- Ensure supplier invoices are accurately coded, approved and processed in accordance with company policies.
n
- Prepare, review and process weekly and monthly EFT payment runs.
n
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve account discrepancies.
n
- Manage supplier enquiries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
n
- Process employee expense claims and corporate card reconciliations.
n
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
n
- Prepare Accounts Payable reports, aged creditor analyses and cash flow information.
n
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and taxation requirements.
n
- Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities.
n
- Support branch administrators, operational teams and finance stakeholders in resolving invoice and payment issues.
n
- Provide guidance,
training and mentoring to Accounts Payable team members.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
n
n
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related discipline.
n
- Proven experience in a senior Accounts Payable role within a medium to large organisation.
n
- Experience managing end-to-end Accounts Payable processes in a high-volume environment.
n
- Strong understanding of GST requirements, invoice compliance and financial controls.
n
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and data analysis.
n
- Experience with Pronto ERP or a similar enterprise system.
n
- Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
n
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior finance team members.
n
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process efficiency.
