We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join a successful WA family-owned and operated manufacturing business specialising in light gauge steel. With a modern, state-of-the-art production facility and a strong pipeline of work, this is an prospect to join a business that is continuing to grow and invest in its people and operations.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Owner, you will lead a team of assemblers, CNC machine operators and second-class welders. This is a genuinely hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working closely with their team and taking ownership of production outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to improve processes, introduce greater efficiencies and build a high-performing production team, with the backing of an experienced leadership group. If you enjoy identifying problems, finding better ways of doing things and seeing the results of your work, this role offers plenty of scope to make your mark.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of production employees
• Take ownership of daily production activities and ensure orders are delivered on time, in full and to specification
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and workflow
• Implement Lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with Projects and Operations to plan production priorities and schedules
• Allocate labour,
machinery and resources to meet production targets
• Monitor production performance and address issues before they impact delivery
• Drive quality standards and undertake root cause analysis when issues arise
• Coach and develop team members to build capability, accountability and performance
• Conduct toolbox meetings and maintain a strong safety-first culture
Key Requirements
- Previous experience supervising or leading a manufacturing or production team
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop people
• Proven experience improving production processes and operational efficiency
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and production environments
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• CNC or multi-process manufacturing experience highly regarded
