An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced AML Specialist to join a highly regarded professional services environment, supporting a sophisticated New Business Intake and AML/CTF function.
This is a hands-on specialist role combining complex AML/CTF case management, CDD/EDD, stakeholder advisory and mentoring responsibilities. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders while helping ensure client onboarding and ongoing compliance obligations are managed effectively.
Important – Working Hours & Location Due to the requirements of the team, the working hours for this position are:
• Perth: 11:00am – 7:30pm
• Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane: 1:00pm – 9:30pm

You must also:
• Be based in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane
• Be able to work in a hybrid environment, including regular days in the office
• Have full Australian working rights
• Be comfortable working the required afternoon/evening shift

The Role As an AML Specialist, you will play a key role within the New Business Intake team, supporting client and matter onboarding, AML/CTF compliance and broader risk management.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Acting as a key point of contact for AML/CTF advice, supporting senior stakeholders and business teams with onboarding and compliance requirements




• Conducting initial and ongoing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), including identity verification and risk assessments
• Assessing risk across clients, matters, jurisdictions, beneficial ownership structures, PEPs, sanctions exposure and adverse media
• Taking ownership of complex, high-risk and sensitive AML cases from initial review through to completion
• Conducting ongoing monitoring, reviewing client risk ratings, trigger events and screening alerts
• Working directly with internal stakeholders and clients to obtain documentation and resolve complex compliance matters
• Maintaining accurate AML/CTF records and supporting regulatory and independent audit requirements
• Assisting with the development and ongoing improvement of AML/CTF policies, procedures and processes
• Mentoring and supporting AML Compliance Analysts, including reviewing work and acting as an escalation point for complex matters
• Supporting AML/CTF training, knowledge sharing and the ongoing development of the wider team

About You We are looking for someone with:
• 3–5+ years’ relevant experience within a law firm, professional services,



financial services or similar regulated environment
• Strong hands-on AML/CTF experience across CDD, EDD, KYC, beneficial ownership, PEPs, sanctions and adverse media
• A solid understanding of the Australian AML/CTF regulatory setting and AUSTRAC expectations
• Experience managing complex or high-risk client cases and confidence making risk-based decisions
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to provide practical AML/CTF guidance to senior stakeholders
• Experience interpreting complex corporate and beneficial ownership structures
• Excellent attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate compliance and client records
• The confidence to mentor or support more junior AML professionals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
