Butcher | Full Time | Food Retail

Seeking a skilled Butcher to join a busy food retail environment on a full time permanent basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced meat cutter to contribute to a well-established team in a location within the northern Melbourne metropolitan area.

About the role

- Proven experience in butchery, including safe operation of meat cutting equipment such as bandsaws.
- Salary range: Competitive market rate around $70,000 to $75,000 annually.
- Location: Northern Melbourne metro area.

Key responsibilities

- Process whole carcasses and large meat cuts into retail-ready products with accuracy and care.
- Ensure safe, hygienic, and appealing presentation and packaging of meat for customers.
- Support inventory management including stock rotation and maintain cleanliness to comply with food safety requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other product sections such as seafood and deli teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide knowledgeable customer service when advising on meat products.
