We’re seeking a motivated HSQE Officer to join our Olympic Dam team and take the next step in their career, supporting the successful delivery of Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) projects. This role would suit someone with solid HSQE experience who is ready to broaden their responsibilities, work more independently and gain greater exposure across a major project environment.
This is afull-time, permanent position working an 8:6 FIFO roster ex-Adelaide, working closely with operational leaders, project teams, clients and subcontractors to drive strong HSQE performance and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
- Promoting a proactive and positive safety culture through visible leadership and regular site engagement.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and safety observations.
- Assisting with incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented and closed out.
- Maintaining HSQE documentation, registers and compliance records.
- Participating in risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS and Safe Work Instructions.
- Monitoring licences, competencies, plant inspections and statutory compliance requirements.
- Supporting environmental initiatives including waste management, spill response and environmental compliance.
- Assisting with internal and external audits, client inspections and compliance activities.
- Preparing HSQE reports, statistics and performance metrics for management and clients.
- Working closely with project and operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drive positive HSQE outcomes.
- Taking increasing ownership of HSQE activities and supporting project leaders with day-to-day compliance and risk management.
About You
- 3+ years’ experience in a HSQE role within the mining and/or construction industry.
- Experience working within mining infrastructure, civil construction or NPI projects will be highly regarded.
- A relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
- Robust organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A genuine interest in developing your HSQE career and taking on increased responsibility.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- White Card.
