CHILDCARE ASSISTANT - Island Kindy | Part Time

Hamilton Island Kindy provides a nurturing and inclusive early learning environment for children from 6 weeks to 6 years. We're committed to creating a space where every child is supported to participate, develop and experience a genuine sense of belonging.

We're looking for an experienced Childcare Assistant to join our team in a part time role with a specialist focus on inclusive support. Working alongside our Lead Educators, you'll provide additional individualised support to children with diverse developmental, behavioural, emotional and additional needs, helping each child engage confidently in their learning environment.

What you'll be doing

You'll work alongside our educators to help children participate meaningfully in play-based learning, routines and everyday Kindy experiences. Depending on each child's individual needs, this may include supporting emotional regulation, transitions, social interactions, sensory needs and engagement.

You'll assist with individual support strategies,



visual supports, social stories and inclusion plans, while observing and documenting children's progress. You'll also collaborate with educators, families and external professionals including Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Inclusion Support professionals to provide consistent, responsive support.

What we're looking for

- Certificate III in Children's Services or higher (Essential)
- Experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, including children with developmental delays, disabilities or additional needs
- Experience implementing individual support plans, behaviour support strategies or inclusion plans
- Experience supporting sensory processing needs and/or complex behaviours
- Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework
- Current QLD Working with Children Check - Blue Card and required Child Protection Training (Essential)
- Current HLTAID012 First Aid, HLTAID009 CPR and QLD Child Safety Training - GECCKO (Essential)
