**Main Activities and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):** **Leadership & Culture** + Comply with all role-specific SHEQ obligations as detailed in the relevant RACI matrix. + Ensure staff are adequately trained in WSP safety and technical requirements. + Lead and foster a positive safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff within the team. + Build trust within the business and empower senior staff to foster a high-performing, collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture aligned with business goals and broader EHS priorities. + Coordinate and conduct meetings for team strategy, quality, performance, and development. + Lead performance, development and career conversations for direct reports, including professional development planning, regular feedback, goal setting, engagement and performance improvement where required. + Plan and manage team capacity, workload allocation and resourcing to meet utilisation, delivery and development objectives. + Support retention, succession planning and growth of team capability through proactive talent development and coaching. + Lead talent acquisition activities for the team, including identification of talent, interviewing, hiring recommendations, onboarding and integration of new starters. **Technical & Operations** + Prepare high-level technical reports, review project reports, provide peer review (as an approved reviewer), and coach, mentor and monitor staff to support ongoing technical and operational development. + Contribute to commercial planning and project delivery to support the team in meeting budget and strategic goals. + Support the Team Manager and National OHH leadership in forecasting, utilisation planning, revenue performance and reporting of key business metrics. + Ensure consistent application of project governance, quality assurance and risk management processes across team delivery, escalating operational,
technical or people risks in a timely manner. **Business Development** + Proactively identify and pursue business opportunities through strong client relationships and client-centric practices. + Build business development capability, contribute to market action plans and represent WSP OHH locally to support pipeline growth and regional profile. + Write strong proposals and contribute to pursuits that secure repeat and follow-on work from existing clients and projects. + Conduct, lead, and encourage others to undertake quality improvement projects to enhance the capability and efficiency of the team. + Involvement in multi-service pursuits across regions and business units, where applicable. **Project Delivery** + Conduct site work, as required. + Scope and execute projects at a strategic level, ensuring key commercial and technical aspects are understood, appropriately resourced, monitored and delivered to skilled consulting standards. + Act as Project Director, Project Manager or 'consultant' for on-going projects as and when required. **Qualifications (Minimum and Desirable):** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Environmental Engineering, Building Surveying, or Occupational Health and Safety. + Periodic attendance at relevant technical training courses, conferences and workshops. + Relevant internal and external SHEQ training. Ideally a Site-Ready Mentor or the ability to become one. + Typically, a member of a Professional Association such as FAMANZ or AIOH (if not,
would be eligible and expected to apply for it within 12 months.) + ANZ Project Manager Level 1-2 Certification. + Client-centricity Training. + Diversity Training. + Management Training. + Licensed Asbestos Assessor (desirable). **Experience, skills and organisational knowledge** + Typically, 5 + years' experience, or WSP Senior to Associate-level consultant. + Advanced competence in measuring and assessing occupational exposure to hazards in the workplace including environmental factors and stresses, chemical hazards, physical and biological hazards. + Working knowledge of managing both safety and commercial risk on projects. + Experience in monitoring and successfully managing the scope of small to medium projects. + Demonstrated experience in preparing successful proposals and supporting pursuits. + Demonstrated business development experience, including identifying opportunities, supporting client growth and delivering strong client outcomes that save time or cost. + Comprehensive knowledge of WSP systems, procedures and practices. + Management experience is desirable, though not essential. **Personal Attributes** + Balances innovation, quality and technical excellence with delivery to timelines and budget. + Is open to feedback and acts on it. + Is self-aware, promotes professional image and is emotionally intelligent. + Manages self and others under pressure. + Ability to interpret technical information and communicate it in an easy-to-understand manner. + Demonstrates WSP's values and aligns behaviours with the company's vision. + Conducts self with high ethical standards, acting with integrity, maintaining confidentiality, managing conflicts of interest, and adhering to organisational policies and professional codes of conduct. + Adopts a "Best for WSP" approach in day-to-day activities
