Are you passionate about helping others and providing care that empowers individuals to live independently? We’re looking/ for compassionate and dedicated Home & Community Care Workers to join our team and support our clients in their homes and communities.
As a DWECH Home & Community Care Worker you will play a vital role in supporting clients who require care and assistance to stay in their homes and communities. You will provide personalised care and support services to clients, enabling them to maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. This position requires empathy, and strong interpersonal skills, as well as adherence to professional standards and regulations within the healthcare system.
About the Role
As a Home & Community Care Worker, you will:
- Deliver high-quality care and support services to clients in accordance with their individual care plans and preferences
- Provide household duties, such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation to maintain a clean and protected living environment for clients.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while promoting dignity and respect.
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and exercises to maintain or improve their physical function and independence.
- Supervise medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with relevant protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with clients’ families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) or willing to obtain
- A valid driver’s license.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear police check and Working with Children Check.
- Must be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical.
- Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with DWECH policy
