What you'll do

This is teaching as a craft, full-time, with the administrative load taken off you.

- Teach small-group classes across our Core, Mastery and Extension programs, from students finding their footing to students chasing a 50.
- Teach from the Contour workbook. Our subject team writes the curriculum, homework, practice SACs and exams. Your prep is deciding how to teach it, not what to teach.
- Mentor students through VCE. You'll share what worked in your own academic path and help them build the habits that carry the year.
- Develop the craft of explanation. Through the Contour Tutor Academy you'll learn to break complex concepts into the moments where it clicks.

What you'll bring

- Solid communication and a knack for making hard concepts click
- Knowledge of your subject at first-year university level or above
- A 99+ ATAR and a 45+ raw study score in your subject (highly desirable, not required)
- Availability for full-time role, committed across a full academic year (we can consider 0.6-0.9 FTE too)
- Energy, empathy, and a desire to help students

- The pay: Full-time is 38 hours a week. Tutors start at $100,000 plus super and bonuses. Most full-time Tutors can earn up to $150,000 including bonuses.

practice SACs and exams already built into our learning portal. We provide you with what to teach, and all you have to do is prep how to teach it.

How to apply

1. Submit your CV, ATAR/raw study scores, and a short paragraph on why you'd make a great tutor at Contour
2. Submit a short video (10–15 minutes) of you tutoring with a sample workbook we provide
3. Attend an in-person interview, which includes a Q&A; and teaching a mock small-group class

One thing to know: all tutoring roles at Contour include a non-compete agreement. We heavily invest in your development as a tutor and ask for the same commitment to our mission in return. We'll walk you through the details before you sign any offer.
