Summary:
This fixed term 12 to 18 months trainee position is an identified First Nations opportunity for an individual to develop practical workplace skills, industry knowledge, and professional experience within a supportive learning environment.
The role is designed to support on-the-job training while contributing to the day-to-day operations of the organisation, whilst completing training across, Child and Family Services, Community Services and AOD programs while completing a nationally recognised qualification in a complementary area.
The role is designed to provide practical workplace experience, develop industry knowledge, and support the successful completion of the traineeship program.
The trainee will work under supervision to gain experience across a range of administrative, operational, and customer service functions while completing relevant training and development requirements. The position aims to build capability, confidence, and employability through hands-on learning, teamwork, and participation in workplace activities.
Responsibilities:
- To support deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed, and client-centred practices in line with organisational values, policies, and professional standards.
- Support the safety,
stability, and wellbeing of Aboriginal children through best practice and evidence-informed approaches.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to contribute to positive outcomes, continuous learning, and reflective practice.
- Comply with all relevant legislation, Child Safe Standards, organisational frameworks, and reporting obligations.
- Participate in required training, career development, supervision, and traineeship study requirements.
- Assist with administrative, operational, customer service, and program support activities as directed.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes, documentation, and data management systems in accordance with organisational standards.
- Communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Current Working with Children’s Check.
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check.
- Current Drivers License.
- Satisfactory drug and alcohol testing screening.
- Enrolment in or willing to undertake relevant traineeship.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
