You will be responsible for performing mechanical and vehicle repair work, including the accurate detection of faults in mechanical parts and vehicle engines using technical testing equipment. This role involves the removal, dismantling, inspection, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components such as transmissions, engine assemblies, and steering mechanisms in accordance with relevant service manuals. You will perform regular vehicle maintenance services including replacement of vehicle fluids, engine tune-ups, and lubricants, and will become an effective user of specialist machinery designed for exhaust system repair and customisation.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately detect faults in mechanical parts and vehicle engines using technical testing equipment
- Remove and dismantle mechanical components including transmissions, engine assemblies, and steering mechanisms
- Complete thorough inspection of mechanical components
- Complete required repair work to mechanical components or undertake replacement of parts in accordance with relevant service manuals
- Reassemble mechanical components post repair and conduct relevant tests to ensure full operational status
- Perform regular vehicle maintenance services including replacement of vehicle fluids, engine tune-ups, and lubricants
- Use specialist machinery designed for exhaust system repair and customisation of exhaust system parts
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times, ensuring a skilled and polite manner when communicating with clients
- Ensure full adherence to regulations relating to pollution and health and safety at all times
About you
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Certificate III in Light Mechanical Technology or above
- Self-motivated and keen to learn
- Technically minded
- Able to work under limited supervision once totally proficient at a task
- Good communication skills
- Energetic and hardworking
- Ability to share information well and contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes
- Very personable and team player contributing to a harmonious work environment
