The role of Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing Occupational Therapy services for children and young people from 0-25 years of age, who are delayed in one or more areas of development, whether it be movement, play, eating, writing, focusing at school, making friends, coping with change or participating in sport and extra-curricular activities, as well as those navigating independence, executive functioning, community participation and the transition to study, work and adulthood.

Key responsibilities

Ensure that occupational therapy service delivery embraces family-centred and strength-based philosophies, including identifying challenges to achieve optimal performance, outcomes, and participation

Recommend and assist with the provision of equipment and aids that measure the impact and positive change for individuals

Provide advice and support to parents and carers to foster development outside of the clinic workplace to help achieve identified clinic goals

Utilise evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning skills to deliver excellent client-focused assessment and intervention services

Undertake designated administrative and compliance-based tasks necessary to support service delivery and adhere to legislative and funding body requirements and obligations





Identify opportunities to continually improve the quality of care and service delivery to clients

Complete OTHC requirements for CPD as per AHPRA guidelines including sourcing and sharing back to OTHC team

Liaise with clients, teachers, schools, pre-schools on a regular basis

Create and develop social media and website content regularly including blogs

About you

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent

Currently registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks, and responsibilities to meet client & service needs.

Demonstrated understanding of developmental issues affecting children & young people (including physical, intellectual, social & psychological issues)

Highly developed communication skills with children, young people & their parents, teachers and other health professionals

Current driver's license and access to motor vehicle

Current Working with Children Check

NDIS Workers Check

Experience working effectively with children & young people aged 0-25 years. (desirable)
